Meet Diego, a Grade 12 student from Mexico, as he shares his journey of personal growth, independence, and self-discovery at William Academy.
Although his time at William Academy was just a few months, Diego embraced the opportunity to step outside his comfort zone and experience life as an international student in Canada. Through the support of dedicated teachers and a welcoming school community, he developed greater independence, learned to manage his time with confidence, and broadened his perspective by connecting with students from many different cultures.
Living in residence gave Diego the freedom to become more self-reliant while still being part of a caring and supportive community. One of his favorite memories was the school's trip to the Toronto Zoo, where he not only enjoyed the experience but also formed new friendships that made his time at William Academy even more meaningful.
Diego's story is a reminder that studying abroad is about more than academics—it's about gaining confidence, embracing new experiences, and discovering your own potential. His journey reflects how William Academy helps students grow as independent, open-minded, and resilient individuals, preparing them for success wherever their future takes them.
